Miracles: What The Bible Has To Say About Them

By Gabriel J. Adams It was a miracle! How many times have you heard someone say that? Probably hundreds of times. But they don’t really mean that it was a miracle what they really mean is that the event they witnessed was amazing, improbable, or inexplicable. But are there real miracles? Have there been times that the natural laws of the universe, such as gravity, or even death, have been stopped, changed, or reversed? To find the answer to this question, we must turn to the Bible. Fact #1: Jesus performed many miracles In the four gospels, we find many instances were Jesus performed miracles, such as Then they brought him a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute, and Jesus healed him, so that he could both talk and see. (Matthew 12:22) Perhaps one of the most famous of Jesus’ miracles was the raising of Lazarus from the dead, which we read about in John 11: Jesus found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb for four days…Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” 44The dead man came out. Fact #2: Jesus performed these miracles to prove that he was God In the book of Acts, Peter says that Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. Fact #3: Jesus gave authority to his disciples to perform miracles In Matthew 10:1, we’re told that Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out evil[a] spirits and to heal every disease and sickness. Fact #4: God has given authority to his servants at various times to perform miracles The Bible has many stories of miracles performed by God’s servants Moses, Elijah, Elisha, and others. The question is does God still empower his followers to work miracles in his name? That is a tough question. The answer is beyond the scope of this article, but I hope that you will think and study the Bible to find the answer! Learn more about miracles. The Interviewable Resume

By Linda Matias It is rumored that the only word William Shakespeare wrote on his resume was Available. Well probably never know if that is true. But it raises an interesting question. How much information is too much and how much is too little when dealing with resume copy? The resume is a vital piece to any job search. As companies scramble to find the ideal candidate, they use the resume to screen candidates. Done right, a resume builds an instant connection with the reader and helps steer the course of the interview in your favor. If you submit a resume that piques the curiosity of the reader, he or she most likely will ask questions based on the information you provided on the resume as opposed to relying on a pre-packaged questionnaire. Thats how you know you have an interviewable resume, when it assists in shaping the course of the interview. The challenge is, How does one create an interviewable resume, one that isnt boring or sterile? How does one write a resume that motivates the reader to give you a call? Write with the employer in mind Cast aside the belief that the resume is about you because it isnt. Though the resume is your story, the heart of it should focus on the needs of the employer. When developing your resume give thought to the person who will be reading it. What are his or her immediate concerns? How will you be able to solve that persons problems? Though it may be difficult to pin down a companys immediate concerns before an interview, the reality is that organizations recruit candidates for one of the following reasons: they need to replace an unproductive employee, a peak performer was promoted or left, or a new position has been created. A recruiter usually searches for a candidate who will produce certain results, one that is a skilled communicator and has a strong work ethic. If you are able to target your resume toward these key areas, you will, without a doubt, tap into the organizations concerns. Choose your phrases carefully Sentence starters and appropriate use of action words all determine whether the resume is interviewable. Instead of using predictable phrases, think of ways to add punch to your resume. For example, instead of using increased sales by 250%write delivered a 250% increase in sales; instead of using ability to effectivelywrite demonstrated ability to effectively; and instead of using reduced costswrite slashed costs. When your resume doesnt sound like all the others on the recruiters desk, he or she will take notice. You will be remembered when your resume breaks the monotony of the recruiters day. Guaranteed. Have a consistent message Dont try to become all things to all people. If you are a CEO, dont add a statement that indicates that you are willing to be a Business Manager. If you are a Sales Manager, dont indicate that you are willing to take on a position as a Customer Service Representative. Get the picture? Determine what you are selling (and looking for) before you put one word to paper. Determine your major selling points Though you may share the same job title with many other people, your accomplishments and how you carry out your responsibilities are what distinguishes you from all the other qualified candidates. Focus your resume on not only what you did but also how well you did it. By design, what makes you interviewable is how you market your strengths on paper. A Piscatorial Project

By Stephen Sheppard You know when you set off on a fishing trip with your super latest technology rod and your shiny automatic reel with lots of flashing lights and alarm bells do you ever give a thought to how our tackle evolved? Well heres a thought provoking story, many centuries ago angling was not a sport but a means of putting food on the table man with his ingenuity devised many methods of catching the elusive creatures but one idea a crude drum of wood mounted on a pin spiked to a stem of willow or hazel was the cutting edge of technology. Then around 1750 /1770 in England records began of the Nottingham centre pin reel one of the first reels to be mass-produced they were made in large quantities and shipped all over the world Nottinghams turn up in auctions and fairs even today. The Nottingham was a free running reel at that time but individual craftsmen seeing an opportunity as angling slowly evolved into a sport particularly with the upper classes, began to look at more sophisticated designs. Materials were limited machine screws and high tensile springs were yet to be invented, however journeymen, skilled craftsmen plied their trades up and down the country, basket weavers, leather workers, wheelwrights, cabinetmakers, so specialist materials were available in small amounts. The Royal Navy was sailing and opening trade routes all over the free world so more exotic timbers, mahogany, rosewood, bamboo, would have been about in small quantities the craftsmen were quick to utilise whatever they could. It is well documented that individual reels were produced using exotic timbers and innovative ideas but they were individual, not mass-produced and because of that their details are sparse, and as they have been discarded or lost with the passing of centuries we can now only imagine their intricacies. These reels would have been multi purpose for coarse and game the concept of individual reels for specific purposes had not at that time become the fashion. Being a craftsman with a keen interest in angling history I set out to create using traditional practises and without the aid of screws and springs a serviceable reel with an effective drag / brake system. The reel I produced has a timber back plate and a one piece brass foot for attachment to the rod, the drum revolves on a brass shaft with a floating brass sleeve fore runner of the ball race the brake operates through a circle of brass pegs set in the back of the reel drum these contact a lever pivoted through the back plate and connected to a spliced reed of bamboo giving a crisp ratchet action. I designed the reel to come apart easily for cleaning and lubrication the running gear is replaceable, unlike the reels of today, the only way to get into them is with a ten-pound lump hammer. It takes over thirty handcrafted pieces to complete the reel a little heart and soul goes into each one the bamboo ratchet brake reel is a truly unique piece of kit and can be seen on my website. I am sure a gentleman angler all those centuries ago would have been proud to own such a reel and to show his piece of cutting edge technology to all his friends as we do today, this is a no excuse serious attempt to reflect the look and feel of an important period in tackle development, but appeal to the discerning angler of today. A true celebration of the reel makers art. Steve www.anglersgifts.co.uk An individual artist / craftsman creating unique pieces reflecting traditional angling artefacts for the discerning angler. Antidepressants and Omphalocele

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Robert_McKay] Robert McKay Paxil is a brand name of the drug paroxetine and is an example of a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI for short). These are a special class of drugs that are specifically designed to manipulate the serotonin levels in the human brain and for this reason are useful in treating a variety of emotional and psychological conditions such as depression, social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, post traumatic stress disorder and premenstrual dysphoric disorder. While this is not a full list, it is a list of the most common conditions that Paxil and drugs like it are prescribed to treat. Paxil is manufactured by the GlaxoSmithKline Company and upon its initial release into the market, the company was extremely happy and very encouraged by the great positive response that they received. All was not well however and eventually studies started to show an alarming dark side of the Paxil drug. Studies found that pregnant women that had taken Paxil during their pregnancy (and especially during the first trimester of their pregnancy) gave birth to infants that possessed some terrible birth defects; congenital heart defects were common such as atrial and ventricular septal problems and in addition to that conditions like omphalocele and craniosyntosis were also observed. Omphalocele Omphalocele is a term given to a type of birth defect in a child. This birth defect affects the abdominal wall of a developing fetus where that abdomen meets the umbilical chord. An infant born with Omphalocele will have a very small abdominal area, because many of its organs will have impacted out into the fetal sack. This is obviously extremely dangerous to the baby and unless the organs are replaced immediately (something that can be difficult to do because of the much smaller abdominal cavity) the child could end up dying. Omphaloceles come in two varieties; large and small and each has a different set of difficulties associated with it. In both cases however, surgery is the only solution to an Omphalocele complication. This makes things difficult as the already delicate physiology of a child is sometimes not able to withstand the physical rigors of major surgery. Small Omphaloceles have the potential to become infected and damage the tissue of the infant and as such these must be dealt with as soon as possible, meaning that sometimes the Doctor might be willing to put the baby under the stress of surgery earlier than in other circumstances. Large Omphaloceles give the physician more time to use to their advantage as they can wait for the infant to stabilize before they jump into the surgery. The best way to avoid Omphalocele complications as well as any other birth defects is to not put yourself in the position where you would have to worry about them. This means not taking any kinds of SSRI drugs during a pregnancy. In any case, for more information regarding [http://www.schmidtandclark.com/Paxil/ ] Paxil and possible complications that might arise from its use, please consult your physician or other trained medical professional. Christmas is About Giving – SAYS WHO?

By David Ben-Ariel Who started that BIG LIE? Undoubtedly those with something to sell, the modern moneychangers! Look at the folks about you rushing like sheep to the slaughter, to the “sales” and such that they simply cannot afford. Going into debt certainly isn’t biblical, so why not break free from the trance? The “Christmas” rush is a “drug” pushed by commercial pimps prostituting a supposedly Christian holiday for their ungodly profits! They hold hands around the cash register and sing, “What a friend we have in Jesus.” The whole idea of giving gifts has gotten out of hand. First: it’s not Jesus’ birthday. Second: the wise men didn’t exchange gifts amongst each other but gave their gifts fit for a King to the King of the Jews (two years old and living in a house at that time – which is why Herod slaughtered the children two years and under trying to abort the Messiah’s ascension to David’s Throne). If Christmas is supposed to be about Christ (and some sincerely believe it is, still in denial that it’s a pagan holiday God wants no part of), why let Santa steal the show? Why do folks pretend they care that Jesus was born when they deny His life the rest of the year? Why do folks get angry when you mention these facts and they’re not even religious? The herd doesn’t want their trance broken, so they’ll go broke keeping alive pagan festivals and foolishness that will be the death of many. Too many prefer tradition over truth, grieved to say. “Harmless” Christmas celebrations, abominations to God and rejected by Christ, are setting the stage for our worst nightmare: our family and friends are going to be shipped off like cattle, since our countries are prophesied to suffer national defeat and deportation due to such idolatrous ideas and tinsel traditions. WAKE UP: Christmas is an ABOMINATION. That’s why I no longer celebrate Christmas. David Ben-Ariel, a Christian-Zionist writer and author of Beyond Babylon: Europe’s Rise and Fall, shares a special focus on the Middle East, reflected in hard-hitting articles that help others improve their understanding of that troubled region. Useful Leeches

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Dr._Anil_Singhal] Dr. Anil Singhal Leeching was largely abandoned as medical science advanced. Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, who first condemned the method of using leeches in treating the patients. While mentioning in aphorism 74 of his Organon of Medicine – the worst kinds of chronic diseases are those produced by the unski llfulness of allopathic physicians – he stated: … Among chronic diseases we must still, alas! reckon those so commonly met with, artificially produced in allopathic treatment by the prolonged use of violent heroic medicines in large and increasing doses, by the abuse of calomel, corrosive … venesections ['shedding streams of blood' in the Sixth Edition], leeches, … &c., whereby the vital force is sometimes weakened to an unmerciful extent, … Every creature of God has its use also, and the leech – a worm that attaches itself to the skin and sucks blood – is now proving it anew. Anti-clotting substances in the leech’s saliva can be used in humans to prevent the blood clots that lead to heart attacks, say researchers. This may be used in plastic and reconstructive surgery too. With the help of genetic engineering, researchers can make large quantities of leech saliva. Named hirudin (from European leech – Hirudo medicinalis), the drug is produced by many pharmaceutical companies worldwide. target=:_new [http://www.spiritindia.com/health-care-news-article-11.html] Useful Leeches Dr. Anil Singhal, M.D. target-_new [http://www.spiritindia.com] Healthcare: Best Health Care Articles at www.spiritindia.com Dr. Anil Singhal, M.D. [http://www.spiritindia.com] Healthcare: Best Health Care Articles at Spiritindia.com Article Source: [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Dr._Anil_Singhal ] http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Dr._Anil_Singhal [http://ezinearticles.com/?Useful-Leeches&id=101196 ] http://EzineArticles.com/?Useful-Leeches&id=101196 fast secured loan va bad credit loan cmg payday loans paycheck felt when told his boss to take his job and shove it lyrics

How To Have A Healthy Water Pond For Your Fish And Vegetation?

By Pat Lorrain To have a healthy pond you must have pH balance water, to get this balance after the pond is filled you must proceed like this: Analyse the water. The first time you fill your pond, the water might contain chemical pollutants and minerals that are toxic for the fishes and the plants. Those chemical substances are the chlorine, the chloramines, the ammonia and many more found in the tap water. The chlorine found in tap water dissipates generally after a few days. But for other chemicals like a combination of chlorine and ammonia, take much more time to decompose. Before introducing plants or fish in the pond, you must analyse the water. After the pond is fill, wait at least one week before testing the water. You can detect almost every toxic substance in the water when testing the pH, the ammonia, the chlorines and the hardness of the water. The pH is the measure of the acidity or the alkalinity. The scale goes from 0 (very acid) from 14 (very alkaline), 7 is neutral and it means that the water is pure. A healthy water has a pH that range between 6.5 and 8.5. You can buy the test kit in pet store, where you bought your pond or online. The indication included in the kit will tell you witch water conditioner to use to correct the situation. Rectify the water parameter A variety of water treatment is offered to balance the water pH and eliminate the toxic substances from your pond. But you should not use them unless the test tells you to. Some fish and plant retailer suggest that you put a conditioner in the pond before you introduce the fishes or the plants in the pond, just for precaution. However, if the test marks that the water is correct, it doesnt need conditioner. If you decide to go with the conditioner anyway, follow the instruction on the label. Pat owns My Water Pond Site which help people find pond supply and solar lights at discount prices. Reading Your Partners Mind

By Dr. Linda Miles When Ann came to see me, she was in the process of counting how many times in the past year her husband had turned on the television when she wanted to talk to himnot that she had ever told him she wanted to talk. She left him oblivious to her upset, while her resentment built at his failure to magically know what was on her mind. When we are young it seems as if our caretakers magically know when we need to eat and what they must do to take care of us. Children have a family romance in which their parents are always wise and good. This is extended to the whole world via the culture of childrens stories, in which wonderful things happen to the good guys and the bad guys get their due. The Prince comes. The slipper fits. They live happily ever after. In adulthood this can become the expectation: that our partners should always know what we need without our having to tell them. When our partner fails to read our minds and to magically know our needs, resentment builds. We can take our partners blindness as a criticism of what we want or as a failure to do their part in the relationship. I have seen many couples who both believe that the other one knows, just knows, what it is they need and is withholding it for reasons of perversity or vindictiveness. This leads to a kind of passivity and watching in the relationship. We wait and wait for our partner to recognize us by doing for us the thing we feel they should know to do. We describe this, as it has often been called as, saving brown stamps. Meanwhile, resentment builds and we cease to be a proper participant in the relationship. Our belief that there is a force outside of our lives magically steering it toward love and happiness is deeply ingrained; usually it is only given up as a consequence of repeated disappointments. Even when it is, we can still become involved in trying to be the perfect person ourselves, believing that our slimness or muscularity will exercise a magical attraction on others around us. Thus women become anorexic and men spend hours at the gym. These behaviors often represent an attempt to keep our belief in magic alive. Everything I Know About Relationship Success I Learned At The Playground

By Stanley Leffew It happened again! I was enjoying an evening with my little 2-yr. old son at the playground when, BAM, it happened. You ever have one of those moments in life when you know you are being taught an important lesson? Picture in your mind a chaotic atmosphere of over fifty little children battling for their turn to play on a handful of playground rides and objects. Recipe for disaster, huh? That’s what I thought, too, until my observations quickly picked up something else. Sure, they were running into one another, crying and trying to get ahead of each other for the rides. They were walking across other children who had fallen down in front of them and were pushing one another to get their turn. They were running to their parents for comfort after getting their feelings hurt. As I stood there taking in the scenery before me, those little blessings of life showed me some important lessons about relationship success. If you will indulge me a moment, I will share with you what I found out. Relationship Success Lesson #1 – The Principle of Fun: Not much to say here! It’s simple; these kids loved to have fun. In adult relationships, life throws curves at us constantly. Responsibilities come at us from every angle. It takes conscious effort to remember to have fun together in life. I emphasize the word, “together”. I’m not talking about the type of fun where the husband plays golf and the wife shops. The “heavy” takes it toll on relationships, and we do well when we give our relationship a time-out from the heavy and lighten up. Couples who play together, stay together. Relationship Success Lesson #2 – The Principle of Fascination: As I stood there watching, it was interesting to see how the younger children reacted to the older kids. It didn’t take much observance to see that they were taken by and fascinated with them. Fascination! While it is not a word often associated with relationship success, if you want thriving relationships, you may just want to give it some precedence. I was blessed earlier in life to have a couple who had been married over twenty-six years model this for me. Whenever anyone saw them together, they were holding hands and playfully giddy as if they had just started dating. When I asked what caused her to be this much in love with a man after so many years of marriage, she responded, “He fascinates me.” Let that sink in a moment. Are you an interesting person? Would you consider yourself intriguing? Do you have interests in life that cause other people to want to be around you, or are you often bored? A few things to note: * Bored people are boring people. * Having interests will help make us more fascinating in life. * In the world of relationship enrichment, “Couch Potatoes Need Not Apply”. Relationship Success Lesson #3 – The Principle of Forgiveness: As I stood and watched, two children were running on the playground in opposite directions, and I saw it coming before they did. They each circled the same object until they literally met in the middle. Two more kids came around and did the same thing. Tempers flared, emotions ran high, tears ran down their cheeks and feelings were hurt. Less than two minutes later, they were off running and playing together, and all was forgotten. What would happen in adult relationships if we learned how to do that? Instead of internalizing everything, we learn not to take it all so personally. Instead of holding grudges, we learn to hold hands. Children have soft hearts – life can sometimes harden them. Sheds a little light on the phrase, “Except you become like little children”, doesn’t it? (C)Copyright 2004 advice-for-lifetime-relationships.com by Stanley J. Leffew ALL RIGHTS RESERVED! Stanley J.
